In 1990 the Rothschild (Lafite) family purchased a controlling interest. In 2000, they became 100% owner along with Albert Frere (a wealthy Belgian who also has an interest in Cheval Blanc). Now that L'Evangile is completely under Rothschild ownership. Medium full-bodied dry red wine in dense ruby color. Notes of toffee, licorice and truffle. Concentrated black berry, cassis, truffle, toasty oak and cigar box characters. Well-balanced wine with persistent black berries fruits and intensity finesse oak in lingering finish.
